Well, I figured I ought to update this journal space since I havent sone so in well over a year...ORZ.
I've been feeling incredibly guilty about the fact that I've not actually done any arty stuff in such a long time. I REALLY need to try and get back into that with some doodles or something. It just seems that the majority of my spare time is filled with costume-making.
Speaking of which, maybe an update on cosplays worn and working-on is required?
Looking back to my previous post, I see that a few of my intentions never came to fruition but on the whole I achieved pretty much all that I set out to do, and more. XD
Added to my cosplay roster is Kotetsu T. Kaburagi and Ivan Karelin from Tiger & Bunny. I'm also working on Origami Cyclone (as in the hero suit) for an undecided event. It was due to be worn for Kita (Last weekend, April 13th) but it was nowhere NEAR ready. T^T Cracking on!
From Sengoku Basara I have Ranmaru and MASAMUNE SAMAAAA~ who I was sceptical about doing when I wrote the previous post; I just didn't think it would ever actually happen. But it has! TWICE! Whoop~~
I had a couple of fairly easy/casual cosplays in the form of Masaomi Kida from Durarara, and Nizuma Eiji from Bakuman. LOL I say 'casual'...despite wearing pyjamas Eiji was anything but casual! Dat wig! XD;
Also now have Rin Okumura from Ao No Exorcist, who was fun to be. Bratty with an adorable tail, what's not to love? X3
Final Fantasy played a big role in my cosplaying endeavours. I now have Zidane Tribal (Dissidia version) from 9, Hope Estheim from 13, Rikku from 10 and an evening wear version of Selphie from 8, which was worn to the FF DISTANT WORLDS concert in London!! *___* SUCH A WONDERFUL EVENING OF JOY AND TEARS AND JOY and random otakus approaching our girly 8 group and stuttering about being 'beautiful' LOL! AND JOY! XDD
Zidane is one of those costumes that I can see me wanting to wear several times before retiring it since I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out. Hope will need to be worn again this year as we have a couple more friends joining us for a bigger group someday. I'd like to do our 10 group again, too! I was so proud of all my friends and their outfits! I certainly felt like the weakest link, there. XD;;
I haven't gotten round to doing any more England and I can't see it happening for a long time now. The fandom has started to die down it seems, so maybe when it becomes a nostalgic memory I'll release Iggy from the vault once more. XD Also still haven't worn Jacuzzi. T___T
Plans for Hakuoki Shinsengumi have changed. I've plumped for a more suitable character for me so i'll be working on Todo Heisuke instead. X3 SO EXCITED! The big plan is to take the Shinsengumi outfits to Japan with us...! (I also plan on taking Ivan to wear at the summer Comiket since I figured I could play the gaijin card pretty well with him XD).
Also gotten into the shallow and silly sexiness that is Uta No Prince Sama, so hopefully will have a couple of variation of Syo Kurusu this year, too. *Is totally type-cast* ^___<
OH and how could I forget Adventure Time?! Haha, i know it's become a bit over-done but my friends and I couldn't resist and I'll now be attempting a Jake the dog outfit......for May Expo.....in around 30 days......HOLY CRUD!

Seasons Tidings and all that

A MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!
And I really do mean it. I've been quite taken aback by the amount of enthusiasm and support shown by wonderful people that, essentially, I've never even met. May all your festive plates be laden with meat and your cups run over with wine! XD
I'm hoping that next year starts off better than the end of this last one. It's not been an easy ride for me recently and although it doesn't look like it'll change any time soon, I still live in hope. ^_^ *nod nod*
DAMN, it looks like I've just missed out on the BOGOF offer for membership! I was going to go halfsies with a friend. Poot! Sometime this year I hope to get one, though, so watch this space. It may kick my ass into gear to actually get more creative stuff done. Ah haha. ^_^;
COSPLAY PLANS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR;
* More England! I'm hoping to get several more variations done, keeping most of them under wraps for now. However, I really want to have a Revoloutionary War uniform made ready for when we go back to Japan next. It'll be perfect for Comiket!
* BASARA! There are so many characters I want to cosplay, SO MANY. T^T
I'll be kicking off the year with Mori Ranmaru, then, hopefully, will join my friend as Masamune for a Masamune and Yukimura pair! *BURNING*
I also have down to do Itsuki and Musashi, but those are more likely pipe dreams at the moment.
* Jacuzzi Splot from Baccano. I've had him prepared for a while but he'll finally get a group outing.
* Souji Okita from Hakuouki Shinsengumi. *___* I'm looking forward to this SO MUCH.
* Zidane Tribal from Dissidia(FF9). Again, LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SO EFFIN' MUCH!! It's been a while in the coming. Better get cracking on with the making!
* Re-wears of several older outfits that are unlikely to ever be retired, such as Edward Elric. I really hope to get some good photos taken this time around, especially of our lovely military dogs! X3
Plus perhaps some first-time outings for cosplays that have otherwise, to date, had no use at all. eg. Kagamine Rin from Vocaloid and Superbo Squallo from Hitman REBORN!
I've been very much into doll customisation since summer and I fully expect that to continue into the New Year and beyond, so I'll strive to put up pictures here of my completed little lives from now on.
I also may start taking on comissions. That's comissions in fanart, keychains, doll-making and possibly even cosplay/cosplay shoots...if anyone becomes interested, please do let me know. ^_^ I'm not an 'orrible person so I won't shoot you down over any requests, but if I'm unable to accept said request I would let you know. (But will be, most certainly, very grateful nonethless!)

Selfish Request

I have a very selfish request to ask of anyone willing to participate...I wonder if anyone is bored enough? XD;
My previous journal entry was advertising my friends art competition, where you draw our characters and win art and prizes in return!
well, it's not doing too badly, but my character, Mamio, has been a little...under-represented. XD (It's because everyone elses' characters are far more awesome! ^_< )
Well. I was wondering if anybody fancied having a shot at drawing my Mamio? Any way you like, any style you like, anything at all!

Might help to know a bit about his character;
He's....'special'. XD Around 17 years old but with the mental age of a happy, curious pre-schooler. Mamio has a habit of transforming into a small white cat when scared or in pain and due to some traumatic childhood experiences, has spent much of his growing years in that form, alone in the forests. He came out of his shell when he met the other characters.
He wears either a grubby, torn up ladies' Yukata or simply a loin-cloth.
Later on, he developes little white neko ears and a tail.
He's not exactly manly. In fact, he's more than a little fruity, but most likely NOT gay. XD Just...childish.
He loves to eat fish and juicy bugs and will try to bite down on anything that moves. He hates getting wet and is, to an extent, scared of water. Despite his childish manner and lack of education, he occasionaly comes out with something profound enough to leave averyone taken aback. He's an expert tree climber, though finds it hard to get back down. Lithe and agile, he'd rather flee from a fight than stand his ground.

Um....I'm so sorry for my selfish request. I can't ask you to do this for me for nothing, can I?
I can't offer much in return...maybe I could make this an art trade if anyone is interested? Or...maybe something cosplay related? I'm not sure what....
